I'm 55 this year and want to celebrate by running 55 race miles, some pushing Sophie. It would be great to raise some funds for INF along the way. Louise and I plan to visit Nepal this year and see the work. We'll be spending time with a colleague, Shirley.

I thought I had endured extreme births until I discovered Shirley's work. In rural Nepal, women can be in labour without medical support for days. This often results in still births and fistula damage leading to incontinence and being forced to live as  an outcast. It's not just a case of not being able to trampoline!

A gynaecologist, Shirley repairs fistulas which literally gives a life back to women who may have suffered for tens of years.  Currently she runs camps once a year, but she and another colleague have raised funds to build a Fistula centre, so the work can continue throughout the year and by Nepali surgeons, when Shirley retires.
