Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am running the Southend Half Marathon on 10th June 2012. With the agreement of her family, I am running in memory of a brave girl called Katie Hart-Greenfield in aid of Little Haven. Katie Hart-Greenfield was 13 years old when she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2006 and in 2007 was referred to Little Havens Children's Hospice for respite care. She and her family visited the hospice on a number of occasions. On 21st February 2008, Katie was admitted as an emergency and hours later she passed away, aged just 15, at the hospice with her family by her side. Following her death she stayed in the hospice's Woodland Suite until her funeral. The family are eternally grateful for the love, care and support they received during Katie's illnes and have continued to raise money for the hospice ever since. The hospice relies heavily on donations and it will cost them £2.4million to continue their care over the next 12 months. The hospice brings life to days not days to life.
