Family Action is the UK’s leading family charity, working with over 60,000 children and families every year. We tackle some of the most complex and difficult issues facing families today - including financial crisis, mental health problems and young carers.

Story

Dear friends!

In January 2010, I will be participating in a seven day jungle adventure race in the Malaysian of in . Teams of four people will compete in a series of challenging activities, including abseiling, trekking though the jungle, running, cycling, swimming, kayaking and white water rafting, culminating in a 4,100 meter ascent of .

I have entered this personal and physical challenge in order to raise funds for a cause that is very close to my heart. I am trying to raise funds for the YoungCarers division in my borough. The project helps children who have to take care of a sick parent at home, to have a chance to speak to other children in the same circumstances and to get professional help if needed. It especially gives them the opportunity to get a chance to “get out” once in a while and live a bit of normal life - as it should be - for a young child. My personal story led me to choose this charity and I have met the group and would like to support them. Therefore I am asking you to donate for this cause and make the challenge to face life, less hard for these kids.

Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. It is the best way to donate as more money is raised.
