Irwin was diagnosed initially with melanoma in 1999, he was successfully treated surgically. The melanoma returned in 2018, and we had precious borrowed time with our dad thanks to the innovations in melanoma treatment. We hope that further research will bring new treatments for sufferers of this Cancer. Dad was grateful for the medical advances that gave him extra time with us all, we would have loved to get him to his 80th birthday in May but Dad felt lucky to get 79 years. So we have set up this fundraiser in place of flowers to be donated to remember Dad. Thank you for reading our story. The Parry-Jones family xxx

About the charity

Melanoma UK was set up in 2007 in memory of Jon Herron. We support patients and families affected by melanoma (skin cancer) and funds raised help to provide that support. We are funding much needed melanoma nurses along with help in vital research. Melanoma is a cruel disease, still without a cure.
