Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Duchenne boys are missing a protein called dystrophin which holds the muscle complex together. The lack of dystrophin causes a cascade of downstream effects that serve to accelerate the muscle decline that's already ongoing because of the lack of dystrophin. Every week, two families in the UK are given the devastating news that their son has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. They'll be told the cold clinical facts: that their son's muscles are dying and have been since birth; that he'll be in a wheelchair at 12, completely paralysed by his teens and life expectancy is his 20s. Treatment options are limited. This is a death sentence. A cure is on the horizon and the charity Duchenne is helping to develop and push towards clinical trials to ultimately become approved medicines for these boys.
Please help me to save little boys lives and save future families heartbreak of losing them. I'll do everything I can to show that we Retailers have a huge heart and are helping to step closer to finding a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
