Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Approximately 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point in their lives. Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition which is to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, they aim to stop prostate cancer being a killer.

On Saturday 1st September 2018 a team from Notting Hill Medical Practice successfully climbed 2790 feet to the summit of Slieve Donard to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

After a successful ascent to the summit of Donard unfortunately during the descent one of our team suffered a heavy fall on steep ground and fractured her leg. We are indebted to The Mourne Mountain Rescue Team who came to our aid and to the Irish Coastguard helicopter 116 who airlifted her to safety and transferred her to hospital. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to having her back with us soon 😊

Congratulations to the whole team on an amazing achievement. We would be so grateful for any donation however small to help us raise money for such a worthy cause 😊
