A run for kids and adults with Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy

SimplyHealth Great North Run 2018 · 9 September 2018 ·
Those that know me are aware that I have done a couple of races before and always enjoy the challenge. However this time it has an extra, my Great North Run will be a fundraising race for Congential Myotonic Dystrophy - Fight Fund (CMD-Fight Fund).
CMD-Fight Fund is a group initially formed by mums and grandmothers, all with something in common a recognised need for greater support for families with CDM. CDM is a rare disease I closely work with. CDM patients present symptoms since neonatal or very early ages and can vary on severity from child to child. There is no current cure or available treatment for this disease.
Unfortunately is considered a rare disease and then there is a need of awareness of its unmet medical need among clinicians, researchs and pharma companies that can potential invest on a treatment for this patients. FighFund searches and literally fights for this, therefore it is an honour for me to run this time in their name and do my best to support their cause.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. and thank you for considering donating to my cause.
