Cecilia and her Dad Scott will walk the West Highland Way in May. It's a multi-day walk of 96 miles from north Glasgow to Fort William through some of the most beautiful parts of Scotland. It's a big undertaking for a P5 and we're all cheering for her. 

Weather willing they will set off on Friday 14th May and aim to complete the Way in 7 days. There are rivers to cross, mountains to climb and the great Scottish midge to endure. Not to mention Dad's stinky feet! They'll stay in a mix of tents, B+B's and pods along the way. 

Pre-covid Cecilia and Dad enjoyed climbing the odd munro, sleeping in their van and swimming in the seas, rivers and lochs of Scotland. During lockdown they have enjoyed watching YouTubers Elina Osborne, Darwin Onthetrail and Dixie (Homemade Wanderlust) who documented their through-hikes on the Pacific Crest Trail, USA, and this has inspired Cecilia to take on her own long distance walk as soon as she was able.

They have chosen to raise money for the Outward Bound Trust Scotland who help young people to defy limitations through adventures in the wild. The OBT challenge young people to never give up, to change their perspective and to learn the most important lesson: to believe in themselves. Any donation you can make will help spur Cecilia and her Dad on, and make a big difference to another young persons mental health. 

Cecilia lives in Linlithgow with her family and pets, and is a P5 pupil at ESMS Junior School. Her favourite things are mermaids. Scott is an Optometrist by day and grizzly mountain man by night.
