The nation’s leading first aid charity. Every year, more than 400,000 people learn how to save a life through our training programmes. Our volunteers provide first aid in their communities and thanks to them fewer lives will be lost needlessly. Raise money. Help save lives. Be the difference.

Story

Celia / Ceels was a strong supporter of the Bedfordshire St John Ambulance through her absolutely unique fundraising events - the Michaelmas Mini Markets and the Fashion Show -, through her committee work, and latterly as County President.

St John are in the process of re-establishing the Kempston Youth Division, and bringing into use a building in Kempston as a training centre and as the main garage for the county's vehicles, which they are intending to name “The Celia Hanbury Kempston Training and Operating Centre". As her family we aim to raise the relatively modest amount of money necessary to and to provide some equipment and uniforms for the resident volunteer division – estimated at somewhere between five and ten thousand pounds.  In the event that we raise more money than necessary for this purpose, then any excess will be used by St John within the County of Bedfordshire on front-line services.

If you feel that you would like to make a contribution (however small) to St John Ambulance in Celia’s memory we would be very grateful and will ensure that it goes to the “sharp end” of St John operations, as Ceels herself would have wanted.
