Story
Dear friends,
Some of you will know that this time last year was when I decided to challenge myself to walk a full marathon and raise money for Cancer Research UK for the first time ever.
With the help of all my friends and family, not only did I manage to walk the 26.2 miles I also raised an impressive £1770.00.
It was however no easy task and to this day the hardest thing I've ever done both physically and mentally. It has taught me what it means to keep going when every inch of your body is telling you to give up, to override the pain and how to one step at a time get to that finish line.
I could not have done it without the moral support I received from my friends on the night and although I did say "never again" at the end… here I am again, preparing to do it all over again.
Why? Well because I can - and because so many people cannot.
I want to give back and I want to give myself - the gift of health and being fit. Since last year's marathon, I have trained hard and am probably the fittest I have ever been - doing this has inspired me to lead a better, healthier life and in return I want to give people who are ill the hope to be better through research and better cures. Cancer affects us all - we are all concerned.
So - I hope that once again, your generosity and support will not only means a donation towards this worthy cause but also the encouragement I will undeniably need to complete the training that await in the next few months to achieve this great challenge (hopefully in less time and less pain than last year!)
A very big thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart :)
Celine
