Hell on the Humber · 25 March 2023

Hull & East Yorkshire Medical Research Centre (Daisy Appeal) opened in 2008. The charity built the Jack Brignall PET-CT Scanning Centre in 2014. In 2024 we built a Molecular Imaging Research Centre to produce PET CT tracers. We are fundraising for a £3m digital scanner to help save more lives.

Story

Help make cancer, heart disease and dementia a thing of the past. Since it was established in 2000, the Daisy Appeal has raised £12.5m to fund cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. They built an £8m research centre, which opened in 2008, and in 2014 opened the £4.5m Jack Brignall PET-CT Scanning Centre. Both are on the Castle Hill Hospital site. The charity now want to build a £7.2m radiochemistry and cyclotron unit so they can produce their our own radioactive tracers.

The Centrica Team will take on the tough and demanding HOTH route on the world famous Humber Bridge for either 6 or 9 hours, as they try to complete as many 4 mile laps as possible in that time!

Thanks in advance for your donation!
