I ran the Richmond RunFest 10k last year with SAT-7 friends from all all sorts of cultures, and it was the best day.

This story belongs to the people of the Middle East and North Africa, not me. 

Joy. Probably not the word that springs to mind when you think of the Middle East. Hardly surprising. 

Conflict, poverty and persecution are daily realities for Christians living in the region. Oppression, abuse and neglect are common for women there. Men face peer pressure and unemployment relentlessly. And these things are what their children will be facing, after a childhood of battling for an education.

But there is another story being told - one of millions of Christians across the Middle East discovering joy. Millions. 

How? Through something probably a bit unexpected. Through powerful faith-filled television programmes that bring much-needed comfort, encouragement, and affirmation in the heart of the family home. 

Every day, SAT-7 brings life-changing moments of joy in the middle of a troubled world, and I'm so passionate about supporting this vital resource!
