Hello friends,

At the end of July we (Leo and Tom) are going to be attempting to do the 20 most Wishlisted climbs in the UK in a week - Challenge: DREAM. 

This starts on the tip of Cornwall and finishes on the Orkney Islands off the North East of Scotland. It will involve (excluding the 12km Cuillin Ridge on the Isle of Skye) about 3000 metres of climbing. To our knowledge this link up has never been done before let alone in a week, and it is just inside what we define as possible for ourselves!

We are using this opportunity to raise awareness and money for the charity MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies). Based in California, MAPS has been performing research for people's mental health since 1986. These are potentially revolutionary treatments for mental illness that rely almost entirely on charitable donation.

We are passionate about mental health, you only have to look around to see lots of people struggling today. We think society can better serve these people, and a huge part of this is supporting new treatments.

Phase 3 trials for one of their most promising therapies yielded results showing 67% of people with longstanding (average of 14 years) treatment-resistant PTSD had lost their diagnosis 2 months after treatment. This involved 3 sessions of MDMA-assisted therapy with a psychologist and psychiatrist as well as preparatory and integration sessions.

Results like these in the world of mental health are practically unheard of. This treatment has been designated FDA Breakthrough Therapy status, alongside psilocybin-assisted therapy for treatment-resistant depression.
