Story
WHAT?!
This year marks the return of Lady P back to the land of racing. By racing, I mean rolling to the start line hideously under-trained and probably hung-over, trying to get to the end without losing a limb or causing a volunteer marshal to fall in love with my muddy self.
WHY?!
As well as being behind the scenes at Challenge 12 UK, I am going to be the first female to compete in (and complete) TWELVE challenges in the name of Challenge 12 (see what we did there). I am taking part in 12 physical activities taking place between May and October to raise money for charities...twelve in total (that's not a coincidence). As a team, the Challenge12 crew is hoping to raise a quarter of a million in five years and this is year - our fourth - it's a whopping £50k target.
THE RACES
For more info on the challenges, visit http://www.challenge12.co.uk/sign-up.html and if you'd like to sign up to any races, help me fundraise by doing your own event or simply want to find out how you can help in whatever way, get in touch with me (details in the special message if you donate).
THE CHARITY
I'll be raising the somewhat unknown charity, The Kaleidoscope Trust, helping all the LGBTs have the same rights I enjoy as a minority (dwarf, brown, atheist, part-time-lesbian, slightly number dyslexic lady).
Their remit is to uphold the human rights of LGBT people around the world as it’s still illegal in a ghastly number of places just to be whoever you want to be and love whoever you want to love, which just ain’t right. For more about the charity and what they do, visit www.kaleidoscopetrust.com.
Thanks for reading but more importantly, your love and support mean almost as much to me as your cash – so dig deep and help get this show on the road!
