Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Chantelle and I am 18 years old, I am deaf and grew up with a hereditary deaf family. Because of my deafness I found it difficult to obtain the same opportunities as my friends would have had growing up. This lead to me struggling in social situations outside of school which impacted on my confidence. However since starting college I have pushed myself to overcome my worries which effectively have boosted my confidence in many parts of my life, but I still feel I have loads more that I can improve on and I am hoping that going on this journey with Jolt can help me further improve and develop more skills and knowledge to help me in life.

I am so grateful to have been nominated to take part with JoLt, this year me and 17 other young people have been given the opportunity to go to Peru, Ecuador, and Galapogos Islands for a month, we will be taking part in a wide variety of activities which will push us in different ways.

However to go on this journey I will have to raise £750 before the 25th of May, please share this and donate, any donations will be much appreciated, I will be doing a few activities to help raise money like walking to Lewes from Brighton, cycling and swimming. I am also going to have my hair cut short into a short bob style before the end of May to raise money for JoLt.

Thank you so much for reading my story
