Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Many of you may already be aware of some of the volunteering I have done in the past, for example working in schools and after school clubs. A good friend of mine has just started her dream job working for Youth Projects International. YPI are committed to delivering sex and relationships education to young people in London and Uganda and the opportunity has arisen to be a part of a team of 12 volunteers who will be delivering Public Health Improvements to a rural village in Uganda. When I heard about this opportunity I couldnt pass it up!
So whats involved?.....The aim of the Public Health Improvement Project is to provide workshops to two key groups, mothers and children/young people. The workshops will include talks about HIV/AIDS, hygiene, nutrition and much more. There will also be One Pound, One Tree - A tree planting project engaging volunteers and Ugandan villagers to work together to fight desertification and land degradation. From this Project we hope to make a long-term impact on a small rural Ugandan community’s health and environment, whilst providing a rewarding experience for all volunteers involved.
