Our daughter Pretti was born nine years ago with unilateral hearing meaning that she only hears with one side of her brain and has permanent moderate/ severe hearing loss. She relies on her hearing aid to navigate through life and everyday tasks sometimes prove challenging. Every week 34 children in the UK are born deaf and the barriers that can hold them back are huge. The Deaf Children’s Society’s vision is world should be without barriers for the 50,000 deaf children in the UK. 

Our family have received fantastic support from the team at the National Deaf Children’s Society, and with your help I would like to raise upwards of £3,000 for completing the London Marathon in October. 

How can your money make a difference?

£12.50 could give a family who have just found out that their baby is deaf, 20 minutes of support through the National Deaf Childrens helpline. 

£60 could help a deaf child try out technology so they can hear music and communicate via a telephone. 

Please give what you can, every penny makes a huge difference to deaf children and their families.
