I am one of a team of Sexual Health and youth workers who are volunteering two weeks of our time - and 18 months of planning - to join Lionsraw to:

 

·         Deliver sexual health, relationship and self-esteem education with young people in Curitiba, Brazil

·         Provide positive activities to improve physical and emotional wellbeing for individuals involved in sex work or who are vulnerable to sexual exploitation Curitiba

 

For many people living in the poorer parts of Curitiba the World Cup will probably just pass them by, or they may experience exploitation for many different reasons while being exposed to some horrendous criminal activity and abuse.

We are hoping to give people some lasting, positive and fun memories while supporting them to build new skills to enable them to build confidence, raise their self-esteem, feel valued, respected as well as build resilience and other transferable skills and knowledge.
