Charlie says........

Thank you for having a look. I am all set to do the 2010 Lanzarote Ironman on May 22. It is a massive challenge for me involving a 3.8km swim, a 180km bike leg and finishing with a 42km marathon. I have been training since last year starting from a base of no experience in any of the disciplines but being in a place where I can train whenever I want to and being surrounded by people who have done Ironman races or coach people for these events.

The Lanzarote Ironman is considered one of the hardest Ironman races in the world as it is hilly, hot and generally very windy. Obviously a sensible choice for a first Ironman!

My plan is to leave Lanzarote after the race in June and I am strongly considering offering my skills to VSO (Volunteer Services Overseas) - www.vso.org.uk so this is my chosen charity for the race.

Please support me by donating to VSO through this website.

All the best

Charlie
