Charles "Charlie" Yates (1952-2020)

Joe Yates is raising money for Blood Cancer UK
In memory of Charles Yates
We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

After many years of bravely battling various forms of cancer, sadly Charles "Charlie" Yates passed away on the 19th December 2020 at the age of 68.

Charlie was a strong, wonderful, courageous soul who gave so much to ensure our happiness and was incredibly kind and ever charitable. Charlie generously donated money on a regular basis to a number of charities that had a special place in his heart.

We have been really touched by the messages we have received from many of you about Charlie and what made him special to you. We have now set up an online tribute for anyone to share their personal messages about Charlie and would be grateful if you could visit the following website to add your tribute:

Instead of flowers, we have decided to set up this page to allow for people to donate towards Blood Cancer UK. Your donation will go towards:

  • Developing better tests so people can get an accurate diagnosis quickly
  • Funding research for cures, for every type of blood cancer
  • Providing expert information and practical support for everyone affected by blood cancer

Thank you for kind donations and for your messages on the Much Loved online tribute website.

Emily and Joe Yates
