Charlie is 11 and has always had long hair. Because of his Aspergers he isn't brilliant with change so shaving his head will be a HUGE deal for him. That's how important it is to him to try and help protect the creatures he's come to love so much. His parrot is his emotional support animal and they are inseparable most of the time

He has said.....

"I have had long hair for a few years now but I would like to shave it to raise money for this cause.
I would like people to sponsor me because of all of the poor parrots that are self harming because they've lost their owners, families or homes. I would like people to realise how emotional parrots really can be, and how much sadness they feel when they lose the things and people that they love.
I have a beautiful parrot myself and he brings me happiness and love everyday. It would bring me wrenching grief to see him in such a pained state because there was no one to love him. The Parrot Zoo look after and rehome parrots who have lost their homes for a range of reasons, giving them somewhere safe to live out their lives."

PS, he will be donating the hair to Derriford Hospital who use it to make wigs for cancer patients.
