The Docklands Sailing & Watersports Centre is located in the heart of East London on the Isle of Dogs. The centre aims are to help and support children and adults of low income and varied backgrounds to participate in a variety of watersports at little or no cost

Story

Welcome to my Team Sparta 2011 Great River race page.  This year I am rowing a six oared Thames Watermans Cutter the gruelling 22 miles from Greenwich to Richmond with 5 friends.  Motivated only by our desire to raise money for charity (okay maybe the beers at the end as well) we will be subjecting ourselves to blisters, rower's ar*e (don't ask) and other unmentionables.

All we are asking is that YOU spur us on with some donations to help out a great charity.  Your money will help young people from less privileged backgrounds to compete at an elite level in sailing.  This year two young ladies from Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre beat off the competition to become the RS Feva U13 World Champions.  With your support we will be able to improve the coaching resources at the centre and help other disadvantaged young people to follow their dreams of success.
