I’m really excited to tell you that I have been selected to volunteer overseas with Restless Development on an International Citizen Service placement in India. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development.

Young people are often told that they can't make a difference, but actions speak louder than words. The actions of thousands of positive young people in communities both abroad and at home is showing that we can make a change and I am proud to say that I will become one of many trying to make an impact.

The first part of my placement is a challenge to raise £800 towards the work of Restless Development and their ICS partners. The money raised will go towards enabling the overall costs of ICS, ensuring they can to continue sending youth volunteers to the developing world to make a lasting difference in disadvantaged communities. 

 
Amongst other things, I’ll be running a 5K, holding a raffle and generally doing anything I can to raise funds for an awesome charity! You can keep track of how I get on here on my Justgiving page. Any contribution from you will make a real difference to the lives of people in developing countries, so please dig deep!
