Story
Hi Everyone,
So, after watching friends of mine run in the London Marathon for the last 2 years running I have decided it's time to be on the other side of the barriers! I'm absolutely terrified by the prospect of having to run 26 miles in one day but I'm doing it for a fantastic cause.
The charity is called Trinity Hospice, it provides skilled, compassionate end of life care to individuals and support for families in our central and south west London community.
Many of their patients will have cancer but others will have long term conditions such as heart failure, lung or neurological conditions including motor neurone disease or multiple sclerosis. It’s the needs of the patient and their family that matter to Trinity, not the diagnosis.
Sometimes people think that by ‘end of life’ it means the last few weeks of a person’s life. This simply isn’t the case – Trinity encourages early referrals so that they can get to know their patients as individuals and help them to live life to the full for whatever time is left – that might be a year or more, months or weeks.
