Firstly, THANK YOU for making it this far and not (yet) being put off by the relentless #pleasedonate spam.
You may have come here expecting my marathon page, but alas - my knees decided a marathon was not for me (I could bore you with the full story - MRI and X Ray visuals included - but I’ll spare you). Determined to not let these misformed knees stop me fundraising, I’ve decided to (quite literally) return to my Dutch roots and trade in my running shoes for a bike. Instead of a measly 26 miles in 4 hours (I wish), I’ll be doing 360 miles over 4 days, peddling my way “home”, from London to Amsterdam (via France & Belgium).
My chosen charity (Against Breast Cancer) very much stays the same and any donations for my marathon page are still counted. A bit of background on why I can I chose to run for Against Breast Cancer: I never met my Oma as a result of breast cancer, and have grown up seeing my own Mama dread and postpone her annual check-ups in absolute fear of being diagnosed herself. Incredibly fortunately, every check-up always came back safe, but I would love your support in helping improve the early diagnosis, better treatment & after-care for those who are less fortunate.
While I’m disappointed I’m not being able to run the marathon, also super excited to take on a new challenge (although it’s probably time I got myself an actual road bike and not just a spin bike...).
THANK YOU!
PS. Barclays are matching donations £ for £, so donations go twice as far!
