This March, University of Bristol Cross Country and Athletics clubs have joined forces to participate in the launch of a brand new fundraising event at the University of Bristol, called ignit10n. 

Fifteen of the university's sports clubs are each undertaking a 10-hour athletic challenge on Friday 7th March to raise money and awareness for a local charity called Above and Beyond, the charity for Bristol's city centre hospitals.

TEAM CROSS COUNTRY and ATHLETICS are attempting to run the length of England during the 10 hour challenge - a distance of over 400 miles! For me personally, this will involve me running approximately 10 miles.

We're hoping to contribute to their 'Golden Gift Appeal' which is working to go 'above and beyond' what the NHS can provide at two of the largest hospitals in Bristol - the BRI and the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre. The work they are doing is making a fundamental and invaluable difference to the experiences of patients in Bristol hospitals, and we're excited to have the opportunity to support them.
