On 26th November I will be running the Wilmslow Festive 10k for UpRising.

UpRising is an organisation close to my heart. They run a variety of courses around the UK helping young people improve their employability and leadership skills.

I found out about Uprising when I was at the depths of unemployment. Having been without a job for 9 months and being constantly knocked back from job interviews I was at an all time low. Uprising was that light at the end of the tunnel. I took part in their 2 week employability course in Manchester, where I got to meet inspirational people, learn about myself and my own worth and have an all round fab experience. Within a month of finishing the course I had been offered a fantastic job in fundraising, where I have met even more inspirational people. 

I've since gone on to take part in their 9 month leadership course, where we were taken on a trip to Parliament and got the opportunity to create our own social action campaigns. And I have recently taken a step up career wise. I'm not sure where I would be without Uprising.

Uprising does this all for free, meaning any young person can benefit in the same way I have. In order to do this, it relies on funding and fundraising. Please help them carry on the fantastic work they do!
