Story
This year I will be running the London Marathon in April, followed closely by the Ilkley Half Marathon in July (because one is clearly not enough!)
The London marathon will be my longest and most challenging test to date. I haven't been crazy enough to try one before, but if you are going to do it you may as well do the London one. I will then be going back to my Yorkshire roots and running in the first ever Ilkley half marathon to honour my late mother. I know that if she were here today then nothing would stop her from running that race so I hope to run every step with her by my side.
I have decided to take on these challenges and raise money for Macmillan, a charity that sits very close to my heart. When my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2015 I depended on Macmillan and couldn't have got threw those difficult months without them. They were the backbone to my family, keeping us all a float in a time when the world seems to be sinking.
Any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated as I hope to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity. I personally will be eternally grateful for your support and so will all the other families who are in desperate need of Macmillan's help. I will also accept additional donations in the form on G@T's at the finish line (or maybe the start!)
