Thank you for taking the time to visit my justgiving page. I am running my first ever half marathon in a few months time and all donations will be given to the Stroke Association. My aim is to raise awareness, support stroke survivors and aid life saving research. A stroke is a brain attack. It happens when the blood supply to part of your brain is cut off, which leads me to my story . . .

8 months ago my father Tony suffered a stroke, just moments from returning home from work. At 59, with no medical problems it came out of nowhere. Never did I expect to come home and find my father following signs of a stroke. I acted fast, unfortunately the stroke acted faster. The damage had already been done and suddenly my father deteriorated beyond imagination. Within 2 days, the stroke caused a midline shift and he had no brain activity. On the Saturday he passed away. Although he is not here his memory lives on and I hope to make him proud in my journey of pushing myself to succeed.

Please donate as little or as much as you can afford, no donation is too small. The charity supports stroke survivors, their families and friends. It provides services, groups and clubs for anyone in need of support. Most of all the charity uses research to prevent strokes, save lives and enable survivors to make the best possible recovery.
