Thank you for taking the time to visit my just giving page.
I am running the London Marathon in April 2019 for Leukaemia Care as my father, Paul, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) in December and has been fighting the disease ever since.
Acute Myeloid Leukaemia is a type of cancer that affects the blood and there are around 240,000 people with blood cancer in the UK and as the third biggest cancer killer in the UK, it claims more than 15,000 lives each year (more than breast cancer or prostate cancer).
Although thankfully, my dad was able to have a bone marrow transplant in August, it will still be some time before we will know how successful the transplant has been, but after 9 months of aggressive chemotherapy and cancer treatments, we are forever grateful to my dad’s medical team, family, friends and the associated organisations like Leukaemia Care, which provides information and support to those affected by Leukaemia.
If you are able, I would really appreciate any donation that you are able to give to Leukaemia Care, as it is a great charity that provides help for other cancer patients like my dad.
Thank you very much for your support.
