Ben Nevis, Sca Fell Pike & Snowdon in 24 hours
At 5pm on Thursday 17th June me and a few mates will start walking up Ben Nevis. By 5pm on Friday 18th June we aim to have walked up and back down the three highest mountains in the UK. As this is almost as much a driving challenge as a walking one, I am very grateful to our two kind drivers, Jane & Tim.
Although this is a bit of fun for all of us, at least I hope that's what it'll be, we thought, while we're at it, this is a good opportunity to raise a few quid for various charities. The charity I've chosen to raise money for is CAFOD. They work to help some of the world's poorest people, principally providing basics such as shelter, food, clean running water and education. I found out more about them recently through church and so am keen to support them.
Now if it's pissing down, or if the M6 is jammed or it appears that we're a bit older, fatter and slower than we realised (I know that last one doesn't sound very plausible) we may not achieve our 24 hour goal. However, if you'd like to make a donation, I'd like to offer you a full no refund guarantee. I and more importantly the people that CAFOD helps will be very grateful for your money.
I am assured from 'JustGiving' that all of the money you donate will go to CAFOD, they’ll send your money directly to CAFOD and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation. Me and my fellow walkers are of course self funding our little stroll; we will also be sponsoring ourselves.
I look forward to telling you some tall stories of mountain adventure very soon and thanks again for anything you give.
Matt
