Dear Family & Friends,

I am planning to run the London Half Marathon on September 8th 2013, in memory of my beloved late father Louis A. Karam.

To those who do not know, my father passed away due to heart problems in April 2009. He was only 62 years old, and I was almost 24 years old at that time. Too early for him to leave us to Heaven.

Though I've only lived with my father for a few years, I did learn a lot. One of the key things I've been taught is perseverance. Nothing comes easy; you've got to fight for what you want in life and challenge yourself. Another key lesson I've been taught is generosity, always giving for those who need us most. We shall never forget those suffering.

Combining these 2 ethics of perseverance and generosity, I am here today challenging myself to run 13 miles in memory of my father. Through your help and support, I will be raising donations for 2 key NGOs - Chain of Hope (Based in London) and HeartBeat (Based in Beirut). Those both share similar goals - That is, primarily providing children suffering from life-threatening heart disease with the corrective surgery and treatment to which they do not have access. My family has always believed in the efforts made by these charity organisations, so the very least we can do is support them in continuing to making children smile and live a long, beautiful life.

All donations made through this page will go to Chain of Hope. I will donate personally from myself to HeartBeat by matching the amount being donated to Chain of Hope (up to £500). If you prefer to give your donation to HeartBeat, please contact me directly for details.
