Every year one in four of us will experience a mental health problem and it's hard enough dealing with the pressures of mental health to start with let alone during a pandemic.
Coronavirus lockdown is also having a huge impact on charities. Many charities across the UK have been left struggling due to cancelled events.
The residents of Cheek Street have decided to take action. A team of 6 runners have been recruited to run relays around the street from 3pm on Friday 8th May 2020. They will keep going until the official distance of 26.2 miles has been completed.
Good planning and care will be taken to ensure social distancing rules are applied at all times.
Cheek Street's charity of choice is our local branch of Mind. All the money raised will go into local mental health assistance. The runners are:
Laura A, Corrie B, Lucy T, Nicola D, Stephanie T and Helen A
We hope the rest of the residents of the Street will cheer us on through their windows/doors and decorate their homes with colourful banners and bunting to brighten up our path as we run...which is a beautiful metaphor for what the charity Mind seek to do!
