Miss Scotland Final · 15 June 2018

Highland Hospice provides specialist care and support to terminally ill patients and their families in the Highlands. We have an In Patient Unit in Inverness, provide day care across the region and offer bereavement counselling for relatives. We aim to provide dignity when time matters most.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am currently fundraising for a local charity called the Highland Hospice as a part of the Miss Scotland 2018 competition, where I am one of the 12 finalists. A large benefit of the being in the final 12 is having the opportunity to fundraise as much money and awareness as possible for your chosen charity. As part of my fundraising I intend on hosting a Tipsy Tea Party and a Charity Dinner/Auction.

The Highland Hospise is a charity that is very close to my families hearts, as around 5 years ago my Great Gran, Nancy Conaghan, sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer. Before she passed, she was taken into the hospice where she was able to live the last of her life to the fullest. She was provided with the highest level of care and through that we believe she passed in the most peaceful way possible. I personally believe the hospice should be a more widely recognised organisation, as the work they do for both their patients and their patients families is incredible; which is one of my goals throughout the my time in the Miss Scotland competition.
