Everest Base Camp Trek · 20 February 2013
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
In April this year, I will be trekking to Everest Base Camp to raise money and awareness for my friends Ian & Debbie Bromley's son Alfie who has Pitts Hopkins Syndrome.
At just 13 months old, Alfie was diagnosed with an extremely rare genetic condition called Pitt Hopkins Syndrome. Alfie, who lives in Newtown, is one of a handful of children in the UK to have this condition and one of roughly 200 worldwide.
Pitt Hopkins Syndrome (PTHS) is a very rare condition affecting a specific gene in chromosome 18 called TCF4. Any functional deficiency in the TCF4 greatly affects how a child will develop over time. Children with PTHS will have physical and intellectual difficulties and will need significant support therapies.
Please help us raise money to not only help Alfie but other children with such conditions.
Thank you for your support
