Greene King Kilimanjaro Hiking Challenge 2017 · 5 October 2017 to 15 October 2017 ·
2 weeks to go!! Eek! Over the last year I've climbed my first mountain, taken on my hardest physical challenge to date (the 6 peaks) and developed a penchant for outdoor shops! Who would of thought it.
I am officially classed as all the gear, some idea!
Really cannot wait now to take on this challenge. I've never been at altitude so be interesting to see how my body reacts. Fingers crossed it copes well!
For those that may not know I am doing this in memory of two of the most amazing people I have ever met - my mum and dad. Sadly I lost them both to Cancer while I was in my twenties but they have been a huge source of inspiration and strength to me ever since. If I have half the strength they showed when they were fighting their battles I will get to the top!
Everyone I have met from Macmillan has been an extraordinary person. Their compassion and strength at such a difficult time in people's lives is simply amazing. They make such a difference to the lives of those they are caring for and the family and friends around them. Their presence made it possible for me to cope on the very darkest of days. Even now I still cannot find the words to explain just how much they helped my family and I so I'm taking action instead. I'm climbing Kilimanjaro to raise money to support these fantastic people and their organisation so that they may continue to be the beacon of light and unwavering support to others who need it.
All the money I raise will go to Macmillan as I am funding the trip myself.

Thanks so much for reading and I cannot express how much your support means to me.
Kilimanjaro - I'm coming to get you!
