Practical Action is an international development organisation that puts ingenious ideas to work so people in poverty can change their world.

Story

I have decided to take on the task of climbing the world's largest freestanding mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro (currently standing at a mere 19,341 ft). This September, I plan to fly out to Tanzania for 14 days to complete the challenge, all in aid of raising funds for Practical Action.

Practical Action are a unique charity that focus on using simple technology solutions to bring people out of poverty and more practical ways to conserve the environment. The charity is relatively unheard of, purely for the fact they don't spend lots of money on advertising. As this is the case, Practical Action ensures 89% of their funds go directly to the cause. Without such large overheads, they are one of few charities who are able to achieve this figure.

For this trip, I plan to raise £2100. I will be paying for the initial start up costs that include travel and lodgings, to ensure that the money donated will be going straight to Practical Action, where it is needed most.

This is a trip of a lifetime with all proceeds going to such a fantastic cause, which without your help would not be possible.

Thanks so much for your support.
