Bipolar UK is the national charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families with the much misunderstood and complex condition of bipolar. We support more than 80,000 individuals and families every year.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The aim is to raise awareness and money for Bi polar UK. We have chosen to support this charity in memory of James Harrison, who tragically lost his life to Bi polar disorder in 2014.

I am leading a group of less experienced paddlers down a section of the North Tyne, consisting of 32.5 miles. We all wanted to set ourselves a challenge that was close to James's heart, this paddle seemed the  most appropriate given his love for the sport. The paddle will commence at Falstone bridge and end at Hexham (Tyne Green), tackling the rapids at Wardens Gorge.

James was highly respected and valued by many, he was more than just a former paddling partner and coach, he was a friend. He is greatly missed by all.

We are hoping that the awareness and money we raise, however little will prevent others losing loved ones to Bipolar disorder or other mental health conditions. I also have an invested interest in this charity, as I am currently studying mental health nursing at Northumbria University.

Please take the time to share this link and direct others towards it, this charity truly is a worthy cause. Bipolar UK has and will continue to support and prevent others experiencing the hurt we all have by losing James!!
