This time last year, myself, Ben and Lucy decided to sign up to the Man V Horse Marathon. A FULL marathon along the Brecon Beacons. WE RAISED A TOTAL OF £4124 for MacMillan Cancer Support which doubled our initial target of £1500. Our amazing Grandad Garth Muton, had been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. And heartbreakingly passed away with his family around him in the morning of 9thFeburary this year.
THIS YEAR WE'RE BACK! With two relay teams which means the distance in split into 3 parts.
GARTHS GIRLS - myself (Chloe), Sharon Muton-Phillips and Louisa Muton .
STALLIONS BANE - Ben Muton-Phillips, Ben Corrigan and James Griffiths
Cancer of the pancreas is very difficult to treat. It rarely causes any symptoms in the early stages, so it's often not detected until the cancer is fairly advanced. If the tumour is large, treating the cancer will be more difficult.This is what happened to our fantastically brave grandad/dad and friend, who was only 71 years of age. He was loved more than words can explain, and was always supportive. Last year he drove to see us pass the finish line. He knew we were doing this for him again, but I don't believe he knew he wouldn't be around to see us all pass the finish line again like he did last year.
Please dig deep , not all of us are runners and we are doing this for him and many others that have been or are affected by this awful disease
