Dart 10k - SwiMarathon

Dart 10k 2019 · 14 September 2019 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For the past 8 years I have taught children to swim with Ipswich Disability Swimming Club. I believe that every child should be able to access the water: to have fun and to be safe. When new swimmers join our club we ask them what they want to achieve from their lessons: almost all the swimmers highlight that they wish to feel safe in the water and they want to be able to swim unaided (by a parent or carer).
I share my love of swimming through teaching young people to gain the confidence and skills they need to enjoy swimming for themselves.
My swimming has enabled me to swim for my club, play water polo, swim in lakes and the sea, lifeguard, complete triathlons, teach, enjoy lidos, volunteer and make many, many friends.
This new challenge is a distance swim - a BIG distance!
Level Water is committed to getting disabled children swimming and provides each child with bespoke one-to-one lessons until they are able to join group swimming lessons and continue swimming forever.
Every child who learns to swim is learning a life-saving skill, but swimming also teaches skills which have an impact beyond the water. Each week, every child is set new challenges that are at the limit of their ability. They are encouraged and supported to try and try again until they succeed. This process builds confidence and self-esteem, not only about this specific task but also throughout their lives.
I would really appreciate your support through sponsorship for this incredibly important charity. Thank you x
