Story
Hi all - thanks for looking
I'm pretty lucky to be one of those people who enjoy going to work. I get to interact with some properly inspiring people who every day take on a journey that most of us do without thinking. But they do it with chronic pain. The energy that's needed to manage pain and cope with the day to day stuff is massive - in work, at home, looking after kids, balancing everything. I'm also lucky to have known and work with amazing clinicians who get this. The people at Flippin'Pain do too
Flippin'pain is a public health campaign who's goal is to provide upto date evidence about how the brain works - especially in pain, and translate into helpful things each person can do to help themselves . It's done in a really accessible way and is a great source of information for public and clinicians. The Flippin'pain peloton is a way of bringing this info to people on the street, supermarket carparks and towns. It's a first for this type of thing for pain in the UK so it'll be really exciting being part of it in action!
I like a bit of biking but this one for me doesn't involve a French stick/cat in a basket and will be a bit of a test I think! We're doing about 250 miles over a week & mixing this with public/clinical education sessions each day so should be good fun!
We're fundraising along the way for the charity Pain Concern who are supporting Flippin'pain and do some great work in the UK supporting those with or caring for people with pain providing information & resources.
It would be ace if you feel able to chuck in a little to support those who need it - even better if you could also share (link below) on your own social media as the profile is just as important. Lastly any spare ibugel you’ve got in the back of the draw I reckon I could use😊 Thanks lots and I'll keep you posted along the way!
