Bupa Great North Run 2012 · 16 September 2012 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

So here we go again!

Another Great North Run but there's a difference. It's my last.

A combination of injury (dodgy knee), doctor's advice (dodgy knee) and wife's advice (what on earth are you doing running 13 miles at your age) persuaded me to quit.

So this is your last chance to sponsor a madman as he runs slowly round the North East.

The Stroke Association will benefit from money raised. I have chosen it in memory of my grandmother Ethel Cordner and father-in-law Derryck Kidd who were both taken from us by strokes.

Give what you can. All donations gratefuly received.
