Story
In May 2012 my life fell apart when a vile, aggressive childhood cancer called neuroblastoma took my little girl at the tender age of just 5. I cant really put into words just how much I miss her everyday and we have set up a charity in her memory called Niamh's Next Step and we are already funding vital research into this vile childhood cancer. You can read more at www.niamhsnextstep.org
Now, I am far to fat (and some would say sensible) to be running marathons, riding bikes and swimming in lakes but I am well capable of doing this time challenge to raise vital funds and awareness whilst hopefully breaking a world record in the process? (TBC)
Each member of the team is paying their own way round the whole of this event so every penny raised will go directly to fight childhood cancer.
The challenge will see our team attempt to visit all four of the UKs national football stadiums within 24 hours using road, rail, train and plane. Departing Wembley Stadium the evening of Wed 16th October at 19.00 we will travel by road up to Hampden Park in Scotland, after a short photo opportunity we will wind our way west to the port of Cairnryan were we will catch our ferry taking us to Belfast. We then wing our way to Windsor Park in Northern Ireland. Here we will have a very quick photo and then off on our toes to Belfast City Airport to catch our plane to Cardiff. From the airport we will scramble to the magnificent Millennium Stadium. Coffee, toilet break and Facebook check in before making our way to Cardiff Railway Station for the penultimate leg of the journey back to Paddington in London. No time for coffee here as we dash down the underground to jump on a Tube taking us back to where in all began....Wembley Stadium. Now, with a lot of planning and a bit of luck this should be doable within 24 hours. The aim of the team is to raise as much money and awareness for Niamh's Next Step as possible so please sponsor me. Even if its only £1 it will help us on our way to finding a cure for the horrible cancer that took my baby.
Thank you
Chris Curry (Niamh's Dad, Founder and Chair of Niamh's Next Step)
