Vision Aid Overseas is an international charity dedicated to fighting poverty by transforming access to eye care in developing countries. They typically do this by sending a team of optometrists to test eyes, dispense glasses and train local optometrists.

I'm aiming to raise £1500 for VAO by running the London Marathon this year. My mother, an optometrist, recently led a team in Ethiopia where they helped train local optometrists, and has visited both Ethiopia and Uganda previously with VAO, so I have a close insight into the great work they do.
