In early October I will be running a marathon a day for 3 days along the North Cornwall coast! Beginning in Padstow and finishing at Lands End 76 miles later this is a completely different challenge to any i have completed before. Running long distances is nothing new to me but doing so in 3 stages with time for muscles to seize up in between runs isn't something i have done much of at all. The route whilst being stunningly beautiful is also staggeringly undulating and rugged. I am hoping that the views and wildlife seen along the way will keep my mind off the pain or at least give me other things to think about in between thinking about how much my legs/feet/stomach hurt!

Money raised will help to improve water quality and watercourse habitats as well as helping to reduce flood risks within the National Trusts Lyme estate and further down stream in places like Poynton. This is what the Riverlands project aims to do in many river catchments  across the country but in terms of the work at Lyme we hope to plant lots more trees, construct leaky dams and enable the moors to hold more water for longer during heavy rain - like a sponge.
