Manchester Sleepout · 9 November 2012 ·

Booth Centre is proud to work with UK citizens, refugees, migrants and anyone in need of support to address the impacts of homelessness, poverty and the immigration system. We have a wealth of experience and knowledge of person-centred, trauma-informed working for 30 years.

Story

A number of people have suggested that I cut my hair off to raise money for charity. Trust me, that's not going to happen! Instead, I am joining the Booth Centre's sleep out on 9 November to highlight some of the hardships that homeless people have to face every single night. The Booth Centre is a fantastic organisation that does some great work and they are also a key partner in Get Ready! & Ready for Work here in Manchester. www.bitc.org.uk/baoh

Back in the day, I would have just stayed up all night, no problem. But things are different now and I'm a little bit worried! But I think I'll be alright...I haven't tried to raise any money for a worthy cause since I was 7 and I had a papier mache egg-shaped money box for the NSPCC. Does anyone remember them? Mine was blue and yellow. Anyway, times have moved on a lot since then and this 'just giving' page makes things a whole lot easier. So, I'm hoping to raise a decent amount. Please do dig deep!
