I am the Shop Manager and Support worker for Helping Hands and have been in this role for just over two years. I have personally seen the massive impacts it can make to peoples lives. I have taken people to rehab, some of whom some are still there. I have built a great friendship with someone who has completely changed their life and was in fact an usher for my wedding last year. I continue to see little steps for the better in peoples journeys. we have 7 supported volunteers within the shop currently, who are keeping their minds occupied, taking up their Retail Level 2 courses. Helping Hands has also impacted my life, with seeing all the badness turning to goodness for people. I'm going to be totally honest, I have only ran 4 times this whole year for a distance of less than 3 miles and I am absolutely bricking it. If I am able to raise over 150 quid I will dress up as Kevin Keegan for the whole of next week at work.
