Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. By reading on you'll at least learn a little about bowel cancer. Hopefully you'll do more and give a little donation.

This horrible disease is something I have lost friends and family to and also sadly something very prevalent.

·        Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer - every half an hour someone dies of the disease

·        Each year around 16,000 people die of bowel cancer

·        In the UK around 41,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer each year, that's around 110 people diagnosed every day, that's someone every 15 minutes

One of the best and easiest ways to prevent bowel cancer is a healthy diet full of fruit, veg and fibre. Also cutting out the processed red meat. Short of not smoking, this is about the best way to prevent cancer. So get into your brown rice and wholemeal bread and resist the bacon and sausages.

So I've started raising money at work by making a shed load of healthy salads and selling them to colleagues. First week raised £82.50. Plenty more of those planned.

But I also got the chance to raise money for Beating Bowel Cancer by taking part in the London Ride 100. This is a 100 mile cycle ride around London probably taking me something like 8 hours. And I might even do it with a fake stool sample strapped to my helmet.

All money raised goes to the charity - none of it is to cover entry fees for the event or anything like that.

I hope you can help by donating but if not, don't worry just keep eating the good stuff.

Thanks awesome people

Chris
