Antibiotic Research

Chris Jones is raising money for AMR Action UK

Celebration of survival · 31 May 2018

Antimicrobial resistance - or AMR - contributes to 35,000 deaths in the UK annually. Urgent action is needed. AMR Action UK support people affected by helping them navigate treatment, sharing their stories with decision makers and campaigning for urgent action to prevent avoidable harm and deaths.

Story

I'm raising money for antibiotic research because at one time or another we all need these vital medicines for ourselves or for our loved ones.

But our options are running out as more and more bacteria become resistant to the drugs in our armoury.

Yet medical science offers us hope of discovering new antibiotics and new ways of using the ones we've got to ensure that we can maintain the edge when it comes to fighting killer bugs.

And antibiotics aren't just used for common infections - they're also used to help people whose resistance is reduced as a result of cancer or organ transplants.

If you can help fund research into new antibiotics, you or someone you love may benefit directly - so please give what you can.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
