Story

On Saturday I completed the Dunwich Dynamo 120 mile bike ride from Victoria Park in Hackney and ending on the Suffolk Coast at Dunwich. Its an unsupported ride which has been going for about 15 years and there were probably about 600-700 people taking part this year.

Apologies for an after the event appeal but only decided to press ahead with this last Thursday. The training included the run back from Harry's school a few weekends ago which was 35 miles and then the 48 miles back from work last Wednesday evening which made me think it was doable. There was going to be a long one last weekend at 5.30 am but got a puncture after 12 miles and had to have Mamze come and collect me (not happy!).

It was through the night leaving London at 8.30 pm and arrived at the coast just after 5 am and also followed Jock's excellent 40th on Friday night !

The route was up through Epping Forest, across to Great Dunmow reaching Finchingfield abour 11.30 pm and avoiding the temptation to turn left to home then Wethersfield, Sudbury, Bilderston, past Lavenham then Needham Market and eventually reaching the Suffolk coast after about 8 hours of cycling

There are some before and after photos above which highlight the modest relative weight loss achieved

If you are able to donate then that would be great and much appreciated. Both Mary-Ann and I thought MacMillan's would be a very good choice.

All the best

Middle
